Founded in 1987, the University of America was approved by the State of Louisiana to award university degrees. The University of America was a Private University, and a pioneer in the Distance Education revolution. Formerly located in New Orleans Louisiana, the University of America was relocated to Cedar Rapids Iowa during the early 90's.
